PDI PROJECT       Our company has commissioned a recycling centre where all waste collected from clients are sorted for “valuable materials”. These sites were introduced to enhance our contribution to environmental issues and as a Black empowerment (PDI) project, we identified specific self employers contractors to “pick” waste stream for recycling purposes. The recovered material is then delivered to a vendor of choice for the contractors financial gain. The present recycling ratio is approximately 68% of the total waste handled at our recycling centre’s. The total number of PDI’S employed amounts to 50 persons. We has only 3 employees at this centre’s. The non-recyclable waste is then compacted and disposed of at a registered licensed landfill site.
